Bigred email has been disabled as of 10:00 a.m. Feb. 27

You can no longer access BigRed to read/send Email, this service was disabled February 27, 2009.

  • Email messages sent to your BigRed address will not bounce IF ...
  • If you completed the migration your messages will be forwarded to your huskers.unl.edu account(until May 15,2009).
  • If you set a forward on your BigRed account to an ISP such as aol or gmail your mail will be sent there(until May 15, 2009).

Need your BigRed email, below are your options.

The only way to access your email on BigRed is to migrate to Huskers.

  • Migrating will move your email and folders on BigRed to your huskers account so you can read them there.
  • Migrating will automatically create a forwarding address on your BigRed account so all new email will be delivered to your huskers account.

How to migrate your BigRed Email to huskers.

  • Click Manage my Bigred account under Navigation on this page
  • Login to WAM with your Student ID and Pin #.
  • Go to Email Address and Blackboard Info under WAM! Home
  • Click to create/maintain your UNL Student e-mail account.
  • Click Maintain an @huskers.unl.edu account.
  • Once you have created a huskers account, login to your huskers to verify it works. Access to huskers is at http://huskers.unl.edu
  • Now you need to go through steps 2 - 5 and request to migrate your BigRed email.
  • Please note that your email migrated from BigRed is stored in folders beginning with Bigred- for example Bigred-INBOX.

I only want new messages sent to my BigRed account.

You can still set or update a forwarding address on your BigRed account. By setting a forwarding address you can route email to any address you specify, after you have it set all newly arriving email will be sent to the address you specified. Please Note: Forwarding of BigRed email will be supported until May 15, 2009.

  • To establish a forwarding address on your BigRed account do the following
  • Login to WAM with your Student ID and Pin #.
  • Go to Email Address and Blackboard Info under WAM! Home
  • Click to create/maintain your UNL Student e-mail account.
  • Enter your new forwarding address and click to set it.

I have BigRed set as my preferred email in WAM, how do I change it?

  • Go to http://wam.unl.edu
  • Login to WAM with your Student ID and Pin #.
  • Click on 'Addresses' under 'My Records'
  • Change the address in the "Personal E-mail Address" box and click on the "Update" button.
  • The WAM server will send you a verification E-mail to correct mistyped addresses. If you do not receive the verification E-mail go back into WAM and correct the E-mail address.
