How do I configure Microsoft Outlook Express 6 to access my BIGRED email account?

If you want Outlook Express 6 to be the program that Windows automatically opens when you click on a web email link then uncheck Always perform this check when starting Outlook Express and click Yes, Otherwise click No

Tools › Accounts ...
Select the Mail tab
Click on Add and select Mail...

Enter Display Name as you want it to appear on outgoing emails
Press Next

Enter E-mail Address as your BIGRED email address
Press Next

Select IMAP server.
Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server is bigred.unl.edu
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server is smtp.unl.edu
Press Next

Account Name is your BIGRED account name
Password is your BIGRED account password
Check Remember password
Uncheck Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)
Press Next

Select the Outlook Express account you just created and click on Properties
Select the Servers tab
Under Outgoing Mail Server check My server requires authentication
Click on Settings...

Check Log on using
Account Name is your My.UNL account name
Password is your My.UNL password
Check Remember password
Uncheck Log on using Secure Password Authentication
Press OK

Choose the Advanced tab
Under Outgoing mail (SMTP) check This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
Change Server Timeouts to 3 minutes
Press OK
Press Close
