Blackboard is different from bigred. Your Blackboard id can change
with changes in your name. If you get married and change your last
name you tell Registration and Records and in a day or two your
Blackboard id has changed to fit your new last name. Bigred, on the
other hand, lets you choose your email login id. We suggest you
choose the same as your Blackboard id to keep things easier to
remember, but we don't require it.
You are getting too much spam.
Spam exists and will continue to exist in the future. Renaming your
bigred email is only a short-term solution, the spam WILL catch up
to the new account. Since most id renames are for people getting
married we create an email forward from the old id to the new id.
That email forward totally defeats the purpose of renaming a login
id to avoid spam.
To fix these problems:
Click on Manage my account at the left.
This will take you to the What About Me server (WAM), log in there using
your 8-digit NUid number and 4-digit NRoll pin number.
Once logged into WAM, click on Addresses under
My Records.
Click on the Click Here button under
Big Red E-mail Account.
Once there your BIGRED login id will be displayed and you will have
three choices:
Reset Password - Reset your password to your 8-digit NUid (on your Ncard).
Rename Login Id - Change your login id on BIGRED to something
different. Everyone gets to change it once no questions asked. You
will need a reason the second time.
Change Mail Forwarding - Request that new mail coming to your
account be forwarded to a different email address.
